At least to me. But I am a big chicken when it comes to horror games. I really like God's Basement because it is the tension of what you cannot see..until see it! Then its just disturbing! I have only just scratched the surface of the game but I played the demo a few months ago and when I saw it was out full release I had to get it. It does get a little tedious sometimes because you have to go back and forth until something changes or a door becomes open, which normally I am down for and I see why they claim to be PT inspired. But sometimes it felt like I was running back and forth from a locked door, down a hallway and back with nothing happening until for no reason the door I was originally trying is open. Other then that it is a really good spooky game, especially for the time of year. I started a lets play series if you want to check it out. It has a v spooky atmosphere and delivers on scary spooks, but the story is so cliche that I kept stopping for eye-rolling breaks.. 10/10 would recommend. Phenomenal game, story line has a lot of meaning behind it!!!!!!. Come for the story/horror. Stay because you can't seem to figure out what to interact with to continue the chain of events. At times, the gameplay could become quite boring, but you don't stop playing because you want to finish the story. I did a complete run through during a 4 hour stream. That ending y'all. NEED BUG FIX !!!!!In late chapter 2, I was falling down into totally dark, Hint was N/A,cant do anything but only exit the game, then i reload the game and it was auto going to chatper3.In part 2 of chapter 3 , after I went sleep and wake up at night, grandma drop the plates and I cleared one of the broken two, then I found I cant clear the other one. I waited 6 mins for the Hints but it says N/A. Nice job........enjoyed it thoroughly..........Looking forward to your next one.. This game has a genuiine spooky feel to it. Like all good horrors changes are sutbtle and unexpected therefore more frightening. New completed it and although still one of the best spookish game I have play had quite a few issues.Story line is very predicative. The sequences you have to carry out to transition between areas can be very frustrating as no clues but the hint system which just tells you the exact sequence. Graphics are simplistic but adequate. With a few queaks this would be a masterpiece.. You’re dead. You’re in an office building, not quite sure who you are and how you got there. Let the nightmare begin. Your character alternates between the office and a home, both full of doors and passages and the memories of the past and all the horror that entails. This is a walking sim, but a challenging one I thought. It is not always easy to deduce what will trigger your path forward. There is a hint system in the Options menu that can be accessed if you have been stuck in the same area for a couple of minutes. I admit I had to use it a couple times! General Hint: Staring pointedly at some things can reveal scary new things.This was a tense, suspenseful horror story with some scary images. But it isn’t a blood splatter fest full of gory images. The horror comes mostly from the suspense and not knowing what is behind the next door. And from wondering what you’ve done and what had been done to you. Well, there is a very creepy someone too … A couple of jump scares (for me anyway), but no chase scenes or dex checks.The game is separated into short chapters that autosave. The loading time on the saves were long for me, but the game was so nicely done that it was worth the wait. The developer reports that the gameplay is 2-3 hours! It took me much longer than that to poke around everywhere, mull over the notes that I found to develop theories about the story and figure out how to proceed in certain areas.This is a great effort from a one-man development team that showed a lot of creativity and polish for an indie first game. I look forward to Erebus’ next project. I recommend this game to all that like horror and a good walking sim. It’s creepy good fun!
